Van Der Graaf

Audio Review No 374, April 2016 (Italy)

Gianfranco Machelli says:
“…together with the Van Der Graaf, the Young DSD rises to an absolute level…”
“By adding the Van Der Graaf, all features so far described are – sensibly – more marked, coming very close to perfection,
and I wouldn’t know what more to ask to a conversion unit.”

HiFi Statement, August 2014 (Germany)

Kurt Lassen says:
“Der Van Der Graaf zoomt die Aufnahmeräume auf Breitwandformat, verbessert die Durchzeichnung und spendiert zur Bass-Fülle die entsprechende Präzision. M2TECH gelingt mit dieser Kombination die Synthese von High End und Vernunft. Einfach klasse!”

Evo Clock Two

Audio Review No 375, May 2016 (Italy)

Marco Benedetti tests the Evo Clock Two together with the Evo DAC Two Plus, the hiFace Evo Two and the Evo Supply Two.
“The effect of the Clock is more sensible, particularly when it’s added/disconnected to the complete setup…” “…More painful is to do without the Evo Clock Two, as a part of transparency and transients sharpness is lost.”

Earmass, May 2016 (USA)

“The result is stellar and impressive anyway. Soundstage and imaging is the first thing that I noticed that have gained a great improvement. The placement of instrument is way more organized and unhurried, sense of air is much more relax and I can only say it is really a great improvement. The speed is more agile as far as I can tell. Is it worth the hassle? I will say yes, every bit of goodness it ‘restore’ in your music are really priceless.”

Evo DAC Two Plus

Audio Review No 375, May 2016 (Italy)

Marco Benedetti tests the Evo Clock Two together with the hiFace Evo Two, the Evo Clock Two and the Evo Supply Two.
“There are lots of very small DAC’s around, but I think very few are comparable to the Evo DAC Two Plus in terms of performance and versatility…”

Earmass, May 2016 (USA)

“I am really impressed with what Plus and its sibling can do, don’t get me wrong, even without the Evo Supply 2, Plus itself is a fine DAC too, easily the best you can get in the price range, but the external supply brought it to another level. If you are in the market to find a DAC that can accept multiple input and virtually able to play every format you throw at it, don’t look further, get the M2Tech Evo DAC 2 Plus!”

“Two or more Evo Two units without their dedicated supply is an option I wouldn’t even take into consideration.”

Earmass, May 2016 (USA)

“I can’t really find fault on the performance of Plus paired with Evo Supply 2, however, without the Evo Supply 2, the sound do degrades although still a stellar performance, first thing I have noticed is the layering, soundstage and detail level is not on par when adding an external power supply, using only the USB bus as power supply is what I won’t do, the sound suffered a lot and I will say stay with the bundled psu for good result, if you want the best out of it, look no further, adding a dedicated external power supply do help a lot.”

hiFace DAC

AudioFi, March 2014 (Malaysia)

Sujesh Pavithran says:
“What’s there not to like about the M2Tech HiFace DAC, if you don’t mind the bright orange garb? It contrives to sound more analogue-y than it has any right to be at this price and mostly succeeds. Importantly, it has set me on the path of computer audio with a high-resolution vigour! Leave it to the Italians…”

Audiostream, July 2013 (USA)

Jason Victor Serinus is straightforward:
“M2TECH has clearly decided to spend its money on technology and implementation rather than fancy packaging. Its hiFace DAC is a game-changing device that delivers such astoundingly good, eminently musical sound for $295 that it could conceivably win over an entire generation of young iWhatever and headphone listeners. It sure won over 36-year old Jeremiah and an audiophile/music critic whose age, I am sure, you are too polite to ask.
Beyond its marked sonic superiority to the $249 Audioquest Dragonfly, I don’t know how the M2TECH hiFace DAC compares with the other new, diminutive bargain USB DACs on the market. I only know that you absolutely must hear it to believe how good it is.”

Stereo Head, June 2013 (Italy)

The hiFace DAC is an epiphany for Matteo Turotti:
“L’hiFace Dac è un piccolo dac dal grande cuore che ha distrutto qualsiasi mio pregiudizio.”
“Grazie a questo pennino potete migliorare drasticamente l’uscita cuffie del vostro portatile, ma potete tranquillamente usarlo anche come dac di un impianto Hi Fi e divertirvi ad osservare le reazioni sconcertate dei vostri amici quando vedranno cosa può tirar fuori questo minuscolo pennino.”

TNT Audio, May 2013 (Italy)

Nick Whetstone tests the hiFace DAC:
“Summing up, this USB DAC is amazingly good. Amazing because of it’s diminutive size, the fact that it is powered from the computer, and its low price.”
“If you already have a computer audio set up, and want an upgrade where you can really hear the improvement, but don’t want to break the bank, the hiFace DAC is probably exactly what you are looking for.”

What Hi-Fi, May 2013 (UK)

Andrew Everard says:
“M2Tech has built quite a reputation for engineering-led value-for-money products pushing the limits of digital sound without ridiculous price-tags, and on this brief audition I’d suggest the HiFace DAC could just turn out to be the company’s most significant product to date.”
“And even better, in that embarrassing moment when someone says ‘Is that a high-end digital-to-analogue converter in your pocket, or…?’, at least now you’ll have an answer.”

Fabio Masia is strucked by the hiFace DAC performance: “no other DAC in this price range has, so far, reached the hiFace DAC measured performance. It’s a unique achievement in its kind, bravo Marco!”

hiFace Two

Adventures in Hi-Fi, April 2014 (UK)

Neil does an overlong and comprehensive review of the hiFace Two:
“In my system, with my music and my room the hiFace offered the more believable presentation, with more dynamic shading and phrasing…”
“Highly recommended!”

Mono & Stereo (Slovenia)

Kurt Lassen says:
“Are you kidding me? Is all this joyfulness coming from a small stick? Yes, indeed it is! But don´t just take my word for it. Try this for yourself if your computer doesn’t have a SPDIF output and your DAC is still not outdated, and I am sure you like this small wonder too.”

TNT Audio, September 2013 (Italy)

Nick Whetstone is quite enthusiast about the hiFace Two:
“…the HiFace Two performs well enough to be considered something of a hi-fi bargain. The fact that we can try different power supplies with it makes it a tweaker’s dream, and even in stock configuration, it can offer very good quality playback when used with something like JPlay or Puppy Linux Slacko. For DIYers, my advice would be to buy the HiFace, knock up a suitable USB cable, and try the 4 AA battery supply that I used. Four good quality AA NiMH batteries and a suitable charger cost less than 20 UK pounds, and IMHO will show the HiFace Two at its best, at least with acoustic type music.”
