RM-1 - RCNAK
Infrared wireless remote control system for Nakamichi decks
This nice, carefully manufactured system is devoted to the famous japanese decks which give outstanding performance even when compared to the best hi-fi sources of our days. Almost all Nakamichi models are provided with a 8-pole DIN socket on the rear panel, to connect to the company's wired or wireless remote controls. The original remote controls are difficult to find and the wired models are boring to use because of the long wire that connects the remote control to the deck. The new RM-1/RCNAK pair allow the user to enjoy the ease of use and the comfort a wireless remote control gives without chasing for an used unit on Ebay. The system is composed by the RM-1 handheld infrared wireless remote control and the RCNAK infrared receiving unit. The RCNAK must be connected to the deck with a DIN-to-DIN, 8-pole cable. Please, take a look at the pictures to fully realise the quality of this little, yet attractive and stylish accessory. The receiving unit can be powered by the deck (non-autoreverese models only) or by a 12VDC wall adapter. The remote is powered by two AAA batteries included in the package. The receiving unit is provided with a 12VDC trigger output, to operate a piece of equipment fitted with a suitable trigger input or a switched outlet strip. The remote control system duplicates the following features: play, pause, stop, record, fast forward, rewind, reverse (for RX and dragon models). In addition, the system features the on/off function related to the trigger output. The range has been tested over a 10m distance. The system is CE and RoHS compliant and is covered by a two years warranty in the European Union. The cost of this unit is 74.17 Euros, plus shipping and handling. We ship to everywhere except USA. To order the unit go to the contacts page. Naks lovers from the States can contact Eslabs to get the unit. Note: The cable that connects the receiving unit to the deck is not provided, but is available upon request at a little extra.
"The product is fully compliant to what promised, it's been tested against Nakamichi 582, 670ZX and 1000ZXL, showing full compatibility with all the models as per play-pause-ff-rew-rec features. It senses with no problem every command, even from relevant distances over 4/5 meters, the keys are a little too small and a little acquaintance is required in order to use them correctly. In consideration of the skill needed to create a circuit which replicates the full functionality at the receiving unit and comparing the price with that of used units, even more when it comes to the very rare original IR remote, I think this is a true bargain. (M.Cicolini, Italy)"
"The remote control, which I have bought to use with a Nakamichi 1000ZXL, is a great idea and a sure upgrade with respect to the original Nakamichi wired remote, because it frees from the burden of the wire at a small cost. Moreover, it has a more ergonomic shape than the Nakamichi "brick". I'm fully satisfied. (P.Bigoni, Italy)"
